Faces of Meth
Methamphetamine is
highly additive, made from toxic chemicals and can cause immediate
and long term health problems such as heart arrhythmia, respiratory
distress, and hyperthermia, as well as a long list of ailments
associated with chronic use such as liver failure, kidney damage,
psychosis, inflammation of the heart lining and damage to the small
blood vessels of the brain. Physical effects include extreme, rapid
weight loss resulting in skeletal appearance, tooth decay and loss,
"crank bugs" (resulting in skin lesions caused from picking at the
skin), tremors resembling Parkinson's syndrome, and pale, gray skin
pallor.
