History of M.A.D.A.M.

Moms and dads against meth is a grassroots community organization that began in February of 2005. Our mission was to stop the spread of methamphetamine abuse from our neighboring states into western Wisconsin, and support the families that are dealing with someone that uses or has used methamphetamine. Many times, even when meth use is confirmed, families are unwilling to talk about it due to guilt, shame, anger, or fear of being judged a "bad Parent". We want to change this perception.

We have educated thousands with our website and monthly newsletter, "The Icebreaker".
We have helped many families and individuals with our community support group.
We have supported many people around the world by e-mail.
We have reached out to those incarcerated because of some crime related to methamphetamine.
We have consoled and supported many parents that have lost their children. (Some of them lost their children to death or prison, and some of them lost them to foster care because of their own use)
We are currently (2007) close to our goal of acquiring a house to be used as a sober transition house for women with children. We will welcome women that are motivated for recovery from any kind of substance abuse. Our goal here is to provide a sober, supportive environment for women with children, while integrating sober living skills, educational activities, peer to peer fellowship, and everyday living skills, that will allow them to successfully transition back into their families and communities.

Moms and Dads Against Meth has changed our focus many times since February 2005, but the goal has stayed the same.

There can be life after meth, but there is no life with it.
